"Could we hit $10,000?"
After a hugely successful fundraising effort last year, in which our Laceup4Lupus team raised almost $7000 I have spent the last 10 months quietly pining for what comes next. Truth be told I had GRAND PLANS for the project - A bigger team with more ambitious goals...Of course, Oprah would be calling and I would be turning away mass media opportunities. So, that hasn't happened, but some pretty cool stuff has.

1) I was selected to participate in the POLAR Ambassador program and have been spoiled rotten by this great company. I've never been much of a 'tech-hound' when it comes to running, but I have become rather addicted to my heart rate monitor.
2) I had a summer filled with wonderful adventures, including some awesome trail runs in the Gutbuster events, run club outings to Hurricane Ridge and the Sooke Hills, the Victoria Half Marathon and Thetis Lake Trail Series!
3) I'm on my way to BERLIN & VIENNA to run my first races outside of BC! To add to that excitement I will be running them with my Dad. You may recall that Dad and I did his first 5k together last April. Both his commitment and mileage have been increasing over the year. This is a huge accomplishment and an opportunity I wasn't about to pass up.

SO...I figured, why not see what we can accomplish in 8 short weeks. Can we break $10,000? I realize that many of you supported me last year, so please know that your continued support is greatly appreciated. I haven't assembled a team and have no big plans for fundraising activities, b/c well...truth be told there aren't enough hours in the day. BUT...if each of you reading this can help spread the word I bet we can meet this goal!
Lets get started, shall we?!
All we need is $3000 in 8 weeks!
